Find a Song From an Instagram Link
Paste a public Instagram Reel or video URL to identify the song playing, even when it’s labeled “Original audio” or the title is missing.
When to Use the Instagram Song Finder
Helpful when you hear music on Instagram but cannot see its title or artist.
Original audio
Try to identify the song behind audio credited only to an Instagram creator. An “Original audio” label doesn’t necessarily name the music in a Reel.
Music behind a Reel
Recognize tracks playing beneath talking, tutorials, or visual edits. Recognition is more difficult when the voice-over is much louder than the music.
Popular Reel tracks
Discover catchy songs featured in trending Instagram content, including clips where the sound name is unfamiliar or doesn’t identify the original artist.
Why a Reel can say “Original audio” instead of a song name
Instagram’s sound label describes the audio attached to a post. Sometimes it links to a named music track. Other times it credits an audio recording to the person who uploaded it.
That recording can mix music, speech, and other sounds. The label alone might not tell you which song is playing. FreeSongFinder checks for a recognizable recording in the available video audio instead of relying only on that label.
What to try when someone is talking over the musicOpen the sound information on Instagram first. It may already identify the track you want.
The sound credit may refer to the upload, not the original song. Copy the public Reel link to check its audio.
A sound label is a credit, not a guarantee that the recording can be identified.
How to Find Music From Instagram
All you need is a direct link to a public Reel or video. There is nothing to download.

01
Copy
Open the Instagram Reel or video and use the sharing options to Copy link. A profile link won’t work.
-
02
Paste
Paste the Instagram URL into the finder above. There’s no need to download or save the video.
-
03
Identify
Start recognition to look for a possible song match, then compare the result with the audio you heard.
Tips for Identifying Songs From Instagram
The finder performs best when the Reel is available and its music can be heard clearly.
Choose public content
Reels from private accounts and removed posts cannot be checked. A post you can watch while logged in may still be inaccessible to an external tool.
Look for audible music
A clear melody is easier to recognize than music covered by voices or noise. A Reel with a brief pause in narration may offer a better section to hear.
Consider audio effects
Slowed, sped-up, remixed, or pitch-shifted songs may be harder to detect. The track may be recognizable, but not the exact edited version.
Paste the direct URL
Use the link to the individual Reel or post instead of an Instagram profile. Links copied from a browser or Instagram’s Share menu can both work if the post is public.
Still can’t find the music in that Reel?
A “No Match Found” result doesn’t always mean the song doesn’t exist. Try these checks before running the same clip again.
Open the Reel again
Check that the post is public and its audio still plays. Private or removed Reels may not be accessible.
Read the caption and comments
Look for a track credit, pinned comment, or reply where the creator shares the song name.
Find a clearer version
Another Reel using the same sound may have a longer, cleaner section of music to compare.
Instagram Song Finder Questions
Quick answers about recognizing songs in Instagram Reels and videos.
Can I find a song from an Instagram link?
Yes. Paste a public Instagram Reel or video URL, and FreeSongFinder will analyze its audio to search for a matching song. A match isn’t guaranteed for every recording.
Does the finder work with Instagram Reels?
Yes. Direct links to publicly available Instagram Reels can be submitted for song recognition.
Can it identify music labeled as original audio?
It may identify the underlying track if the audio is clear and the song is available in the recognition database. “Original audio” is not necessarily the name of the music.
Why did the Instagram song search return no match?
The clip may contain a very short sample, loud speech, sound effects, an unreleased song, or a heavily modified version of the track. Try a clearer public recording or check the post for music credits.
Do I need to save the Instagram Reel first?
No. Copy the Reel or video link and submit it directly without saving the content to your device.
Is the Instagram song finder free?
Yes. FreeSongFinder can be used online without registration or an app installation.
